The purpose of the IBF Basketball Tournament is for increased fellowship of our young men through basketball. Many of our young men not only get to compete against each other but get to know their peers from all across the country. By having an avenue like the IBF Basketball Tournament, their free time can be spent in continued growth of their relationship with other fellow brothers.

The 2008 IBF Basketball Tournament is being organized by the 2008 IBF Basketball Tournament Committee. The members of this committee are as follows:

Benjamin George    Philadelphia, Pa
Michael John        North Wales, Pa

Golden Rules

In 2004 the IBF Tournament Committee reached out to the IBF Conference Committee and asked for guidance in preparing rules for the tournament. Apart from the game-play rules, these new rules would be a guideline for player conduct while participating in the tournament and conduct throughout the rest of the conference. So in 2004, the Tournament Committee in association with the IBF Conference Committee enacted the “Golden Rules”.

The Golden Rules are as follows:

Rule #1
No behavior which is unbecoming of a believer will be tolerated during the tournament; whether during or before actual game-play. Any behavior which causes a distraction to the tournament or conference will cause the offending person and their team to be kicked out of the tournament and possibly the conference. No verbal or physical garbage will be tolerated at any time!

Rule #2
Each team captain is responsible for making sure ALL team players are attending ALL meetings. The names of each captain and team members will be submitted to the IBF Committee; who will confront either the IBF Tournament Committee or the captains themselves about players who are not at meetings.

Rule #3
IF players are found not attending meeting, they will be issued a warning. If they it happens a second time, the player will not be allowed to play in the next game. If it persists, further disciplinary action will be taken. Please be aware that the IBF Committee, as well as the IBF Tournament Committee will be watching and any suspicion by either committee about attendance will result in disciplinary action. **Please remember the reason why we are here!

The Golden Rules must be agreed upon by the team captain during online team registration or you will not be permitted to register your team.
